Rosemary for hair

Rosemary (Rosmarinus in Latin) is part of the mint family of herbs. Rosemary is a bushy type of evergreen that can grow six feet or higher. Rosemary is one of the oldest and most respected herbs that is still used in modern times to promote health. Rosemary can be used several ways to promote health: as rosemary tea, as rosemary-infused bath water and as a oil for hair.

This lovely aromatic herb is widely respected for its value as a hair treatment. It is believed to stimulate hair follicles. Thus, it may slow down or even permanently hold off premature hair loss and gray hair (although there is no proven scientific evidence yet).

Owing to its strong and pleasant flavor, rosemary is famous for its hair-conditioning properties. In fact, Rosemary eliminates dryness and act as an excellent conditioner. Rosemary oils soothe and condition dry, flaky scalps. When applied in a concentrated form to the roots and scalp, rosemary is helpful in clearing dandruff. Rosemary can be mixed with tea and basil for heavy scalp problems.

Rosemary is known to help darken gray hair over time. If your hair started to being gray, you may want to avoid using commercial dyes to protect your hair in the long run. Over an extended period of time, rosemary rinses and oils are suggested to gently darken gray hair.
